E-mail certificate

E-mail certificate applications are available at libraries
The e-mail certificate is intended for individual e-mail addresses that are used by organisations and checked by several people. The recipient of messages sent to such an address is a unit or department carrying out a certain task within the organisation, not an individual employee. Such addresses include e-mail addresses for conveying.

  • records
  • orders
  • notices
  • action requests.

Messages sent to such addresses contain confidential information connected to processing such matters.

Encrypted messages sent to an organisational e-mail address are opened using the e-mail certificate. Certificates can also be used to sign e-mails sent by the organisation.

Using e-mail certificates, which the Population Register Centre issues as file-based certificates, does not require a card reader or special software. The e-mail certificate works with most S/MIME compatible e-mail applications.
